FAQs
Need support? Just ask us.
How are menstrual cups different from tampons?
The Lunette menstrual cup is made of medical grade silicone, not cotton or rayon which can dry you out. Plus, the Lunette cup’s capacity is much greater than tampon’s capacity. The Lunette model 2 can hold (30ml) 1 fl oz of liquid compared to a super absorbency tampon which can hold only 12-15 grams.
I've never used a cup before— is it hard?
Some say it is super easy and they get it right right away. Others say that it took a few attempts before they got it right. When you try the cup for the first time, read the instructions thoroughly and try to be as relaxed as possible. Try different kinds of foldings and positions and get to know your body. Wash your hands and use your fingers and a mirror (like the Nyssa VieVision Between Legs Mirror) to learn what your body is like. If it doesn't go well the first time, do not give-up. It can take some time but we’re sure you'll get it!
Why am I having difficulties removing my cup?
Here are our tips for how to safely and easily remove a Lunette cup:

First— RELAX: Just as with insertion, breathe and take your time!

DO NOT pull on the stem: The stem is used to gain access the bottom of the cup. If you pull on the stem, it will hurt! It will also create a mess since the cup won't be supported or controlled when it exits.

Squeeze bottom to release suction: This is key. The bottom of the cup has ridges for gripping. Grip the bottom and move the cup slightly to the side. The idea is to pull an edge away from the vaginal wall to release suction. You will hear it when this happens.

Rock gently: Once suction releases, gently rock the cup from side to side as you pull it out. This technique might not be necessary, but helps with removal if the cup is feeling stubborn to come out.
How should I use the Intimate Wipes?
You can use Lunette's Intimate Wipes for your intimate areas and your body in general: wipe your hands, freshen your face, or wipe away sweat from your armpits. Great for messy period days, hot summer days or after working out. Lunette's Intimate Wipes are fantastic for after sex too! They are safe to use on the face, but you should avoid direct contact with eyes if sensitive.
How should I dispose of Lunette Wipes?
Drum roll please... the Lunette Intimate Wipes are completely biodegradable and compostable and can be recycled or incinerated as energy-to-waste!

Do not flush Lunette Wipes. Lunette decided to make non-flushable wipes because thinner flushable wipes are not always lint-free and may leave fibre residues on your skin and intimate areas. No thank you!
Have Lunette Intimate Wipes been evaluated for their safety?
Yes. The finished product has been laboratory tested to confirm the safety of its physical and chemical properties, stability, storage standards and best before-use date. Lunette Intimate Wipes comply with Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 and are suitable for use in intimate areas where skin is more permeable and sensitive than other areas. Avoid using directly on your eyes and discontinue use if irritation occurs.
